That's the way to win support from people.

That's what they do here. Also if the cops want a raise they just issue warnings instead of fines. Government can't afford it.

Why you gotta call the Japanese People "common"?

Which is kind of the way to win strikes.

That's why Japan is considered one of the smartest countries in the world cause of stuff like this

That says a lot about how local governments fund themselves... Anyone else think that's fundamentally wrong?

Everybody here does. Thankfully the govt assures us the cops don't have quotas, so at least we've got that much.

By directly benefiting from crime, the government makes itself the accessory to that crime

Subjectively common, maybe? On a global scale, Japanese people are uncommon. On a Japan scale, Japanese people are common.

Japan is super unique

I think OP meant "the part of the population of Japan that uses public transport" which is a large enough part to be common

Where are you? I am thinking the British can learn some lessons from Japan and elsewhere.

Bus drivers in Dublin have done this before

I’ve been saying this for years, unfortunately our government is too archaic and inept to do something a radical as learn from someone else.

Rips4w . 2018-05-17 11:40:06
Do the bus drivers own their own buses?

WizardHarryDresden . 2018-05-17 11:48:41
Isn't that illegal? Taking their busses and gas money to waste on free fairs

They do this in Brisbane Australia too. Like they've been doing it for years. I thought it was normal

It would be against company policy, yes, but so is striking by not turning up

regularguy3000 . 2018-05-17 11:59:59
They do this also in certain parts of Australia, if the driver is not wearing a uniform he’s in strike mode and you don’t pay the fare

Yes agreed. Let’s take a backwards step and leave the EU instead because that makes perfect sense.

Let’s risk everything because there might be a better deal in the mystery box....it might even be equal to the deal we already have!

Not really applicable to universities unless campus registrars go on strike. Most/all are exempt at that level and thus don’t strike.

Unlike here in MN when people stand in front of the busiest highways blocking traffic when people need to get to work

The money shouldn’t be necessary to run any portion of our govt that is funded by our taxes already.

NYPD went on strike by only making legally required arrests. Crime dropped while they were on strike.
