I have never in my life seen Mick so humble. I’ve never really been one for award shows (especially lately) I’d just see the results in some rock mag., tv or the web for highlights and (mainly) embarrassing moments from some of our favorite prima donnas. But a genuine heartfelt induction like this should be the standard all entertainers should aspire to. Well Done Mick. Well Done.

The Beatles and Stones were great friends in real life that's a fact.

Only an Englishman can speak like this. After all my favorite everything is written in English. No poetry, no lyric, no literature can have the depth in any other language as much as English. Even my favorite library of books the Holy Bible is written in King James English. Thank you Mick and congrats to the Beatles for being in my life time. Lol

If you really want to compare the two bands you have to begin by accepting the fact that they're both in the R&R HOF, they both have a massive number of #1 hits (as well as dozens of other songs it their respective repertoires that if you heard their melodies you'd be able to name them) and they've both contributed greatly to not only to music but to culture itself. That said, I like them both. Equally. Their influences on practically every band since are legendary. Lennon and Richards have set the standard on which other rhythm guitarists are judged. Jagger essentially defined the role of a R&R front man. The Beatles redefined what was possible in a recording studio. The Stone's gave us the quintessential driving rhythm that bands still use all the time. But, both bands did the one thing that is truly rare. They liberated an entire generation from boredom AND they made people feel happy and free (as opposed to unhappy and narcissistic).

The stones were good no doubt but no band can even be compared to the beatles .Every top band in this country owes the beatles for any success they had.Thinking back how they had to struggle to make any money before they got the breaks its laughable to see/hear the garbage bands /solo artists today get instant success .Solely due to billionaire promoters of course and nothing to do with talent Every single top band from the past had to do it on their own and work their arses off to get to the top.Todays bands and musicians are a joke with a very few exceptions

Lennon and Keith got a long good, see the RockAnd RollCircus videos. But, Lennon was a bit of a bully when it came to Jagger though making fun of his femine ways ( which makes him a great front man)
Too bad McCartney didn't get involved with the stones more or jam onstage with them. Paul is the real Bluesy one in the Beatles.. to bad he went in the Pop direction. Listen to Paul sing Oh Darling.. wow what a good blues voice.

When you got 'ere tonight, a lot of folks wished you wouldn't have got 'ere tonight. Couldn't ya have not got there tonight? Do ya think that posterity will care that ya got there? They WILL care that the Beatles got there, of course.

He says how in England there was nothing at the time, running down jazz music.
There was cliff Richard, Marty wild, Billy Fury, Johnny kid and the pirate's plus a heck of a lot of other home grown talent that were singer songwriters etc, long before the stones or the Beatles made it big.

I love how Mick 'gives credit where credit is due." Love both groups. But George's 'Something In the Way She Moves" about wife Patti Boyd is such a classic among women and me a real classic. "Let's Spend the Night Together" -less romantic, rather detatched yet a favorite here too!!!

It's always been my impression that Jagger was more envious of the Beatles than anything else.
That said, he did this respectfully and well. If I had a hat 30 years ago, I would have taken it off.

I couldn't have imagined a better person to induct the Beatles than the awesomeness that is Mr Jagger, a man who is still singing like a young 'un. Long may the Stones and the remaining two Beatles reign. They changed pop music forever, I love them both.xx

oh Mick. he didn't even offer congratulations. Typical ego took over and the egomaniac talked of his feelings as Beatles made their wildly successful early hits b4 Stones. ok he tried to clean up and. say they generally stayed friends. But he never aadmits The Beates gifted songs to the stones to record..and SURVIVE.
