About :

In this spotlight video we cover how to get started using IndustrialCraft 2 Experimental nuclear power. From ore to uranium fuel rods, the entire start to finish process is covered. We also look at the difference between an EU reactor and a fluid reactor, and configurations of both.

This video is old and out of date for newer versions of Minecraft. It was made for version 1.7.10. And update is due and likely coming soon for 1.12 as people move to that version.

I know this video is a bit old... but I have to ask - why coolant? I have a very good setup myself however the only loss I suffer and have to replenish constantly is distilled water, not coolant. Of course I check coolant levels every fuel cycle but it never goes below 10k. Do you suffer water loss?

So, basically a solar panel generates much more than a fucking nuclear reactor? because the truth is that the EU amount generated by the reactor is disappointing

So why don't you use stirling generators instead of the steam turbines seems like a lot less hassle, do the steam turbines generate more eu/hu?

So this is gonna sound stupid but when I break a uranium ore with a pickaxe or with quarry I get an actual uranium ore... gem.. thing. Its not an ore block. So I cant take any of what my quarries make and use it in this. The game says I can take nether uranium and cook it to make the uranium ore block, but after running almost 3 full size quarries in the nether I've retrieved a laughable amount of uranium.. something like 5 nether uranium blocks... I must be missing something.

I'd like to thank you for this tutorial. I used natesky9's idea with the 4 quads that keeps it at 320 EU/t @ 0 heat. Helps me a lot on my FTB Infinity Evolved Skyblock Expert server. Big jump from a water wheel (makes 88RF/t, in comparison this makes 1280 RF/t).

33:36 - Ah, the "joys" of the IC2 wrench failure mechanic. I possess the engineering expertise to build amazing technological machines, but I'm too inept to reliably remove these machines from their current positions without destroying them.

Because i dont know, for exemple, how you see the hud of the block only by looking to them, or the tanks ejectors blocks, they are amazing.
Please answer¡

how in the world do you use that much power!?! I've seen one that gives 1000 eu per tick. that's kinda 20k per second. why do you ever need that much power?

So what's better about the fluid reactors vs. the simpler reactors? It seems like it just takes more time and resources to produce the same output (or less). Do people just simply build them for the challenge and novelty of it? I think I'm missing something here.

I kind of liked the video. Was very slow and easy to understan (good for kids i guess). But what i've missed are raw numbers. The only reason i watched this entire huge video is because i wanted to know how much power these babies put out and if it's worth going through the hassle of building them. You stated the 100 and 50 eu/t for each components, but i didn't know to how much it adds up. Anyway.. thx for the effort you put into this :)

What I expected from an hour-long video on IC2 reactors was to show me exactly how each & every component of the reactor affects its operation, in detail & very precise. What I didn't expect was showing crafting recipes visible in NEI, or being told to look up elsewhere how exactly all these components work.

Wait, do I actually need to fill the reactor chamber with coolant? Where is this "coolant" coming from? And how do you keep a fresh supply of distilled water? Tons of solar distillers?

great video that helped me alot! but one thing i was having problems with was the heat vents. after some research i figured out that the heat vents no longer remove heat from the reactor they only dissipate it. if u want to remove heat from the reactor u have to use either a "reactor vent" or an "overclocked heat vent" heres a chart i got from the wiki

hope it helps guys and once again great vid!

I have been waiting for a video of this quality for some time now covering IC2 Nuclear power. Its funny me finding this video now as I have just started playing MC again. Have you had a look at the fusion reactor (RF) in Mekanism. I think it would make a great spotlight video as there is tons of useful machines in there.
