Hydrogen bonding can be so confusing, and in this video we talk about some common mistakes. Hydrogen bonds are intermolecular forces between molecules. They form because one atom has a high electronegativity, so it gets a partial negative charge, and the hydrogen gets a partial positive charge.

since Oxygen is electronegative, wont it hog the carbon electrons as well? Then the carbon atoms will have a sight +ve charge on them, but they do not attract towards other slightly -ve oxygen atoms, can someone explain this to me?

Amazing video

But I have a question, one thing I understood from the video is that for hydrogen bonding to exist the hydrogen atom should be between two oxygen atoms (3:09).
But there is hydrogen bonding between chloroform and acetone even though hydrogen atom is in between oxygen atom and carbon atom.
Also, there is hydrogen bonding between NH3 and HF molecules.
Pls can u enlighten me on this.

What about Chlorine? It forms HCl (Hydrochloric acid) which is very acidic (low pH value). Chlorine is also more electronegative than hydrogen, does it have hydrogen bonds? And on the side: does the electronegativity properties explain it's extremely low pH value?
