The words "auto" and "mobile" both existed at that time, with their meanings pretty obvious. They're acting like "automobile" is a word from an alien language or something.

Actually, I liked dragon heart personally, Sean was great as Drako, also although I loved sir Ian macellan (Not sure how to spell it) Sean would've been awesome as Gandalf

The reason he turned down the role of Gandalf is because he didn't understand it
Yes I can't believe it myself either

Tom sawer wasn't his son, M was talking abour quartermain's son who was shown dead near the beginning.
War was not inevitable, M was pitting nations against each other so he could sell them wepons.

I watched the movie before reading the comic(because at the time my dad would not let me read them because i was under age) and I LOVED the movie. When i read the comic I loved it too but for different reasons. I was actually disappointed that Tom Sawyer was not in the comic, he was my favorite in the movie.

Besides ruining all that was good about the comics, this is another movie that doesn't understand how comic book adaptations should go. They talk too much because people in comics talk too much. As the panels are stationary, you have lots of inner monologues or speech balloons to explain what a character is doing, because we don't see them doing it. In a movie, that's not necessary, just show them do it. It seems the people who made this movie think they need to explain to the audience what the characters are doing all the time. Or perhaps they just think, like Hollywood usually do, that we're stupid and need to have these things explained to us, as it's not a movie about a family going on vacations in the US.

Yes, the take on INvisible Man was wonderful! You could make a whole movie of how disgusting people would be at seeing his intestines filling with poo, and food and drink fermenting in his stomach, and you could even use him for science class, as you would see all the chemical processes and the substances absorbed into his body being carried around him... Hey, this movie just turned into a prototype for Cells at Work!!!!

This movie for me is like watching an old Lost in Space episode featuring Dr. Smith in a prominent role. Abominable, cringey, but somehow fun in a shameful way...

One of the major reasons this movie was a failure was Connery. He insisted in taking the lead role, whereas the director wanted the movie to be more faithful to the comic, where Mina leads the group, and so the director walked out. Fucked up the whole movie. From all Alan Moore adaptations, I think this is the one that justifies his hatred for movies (which doesn't prevent him from pocketing money from studios, mind you... hypocrite!)
And what the fuck is the villain going to do with the world? Inherit all our political and social problems?!? I always considered that. At least Dr. Doom was a good administrator who would probably solve all those problems with his genius, and who loved his people and underlings as long as they obeyed him. The people of Latveria love him!

I actually just re-watched this movie a few months ago, my dad rented it from the library. I could see so many errors in the editing and the characters that I totally skipped over however many years ago I watched it before. XD

Some of the criticism's leveled seem to indicate never having read the comic. Half the comic was sitting around talking about everything.

16:35 AND IT JUST HIT ME HOW WASTED MORIARTY IS IN THIS STORY.

In real Sherlock Holmes story, Moriarty came up with the Red Headed League. No, not a super hero team of gingers, but a scam. A scam using the mask of genetic cultural identity to fool a target away from his duties. "For the please, by all means, join our red headed brothers to promote red headed values". IT IS A MICROCOSM OF ETHNOSUPERIORITY PYRAMID SCHEMING!

If you wanted to entertain Moriarty promoting blondes instead, you can recreate shit like the Beer Hall Push or an early Nazi Rally just so Moriarty can rob a treasure from a museum during a riot. It would be a literal tie in to something he actually did in literature: prey upon the pride of the week minded to use them as a chess piece in something else entirely. Inventing the Nazi Party just so he can.......I don't know.........steal the sword of Seigfried or a golden apple from a museum during the riot would be riot up his ally, fit the henchmen needs well for the action movie, and add even more literature to the pile of references.

You would think method actors would have the easiest damn time in the world adapting this. Think about it.

They each read their own book, they all come back and method act the shit out of it, and change the script as they film with the director. THE REASON FOR METHOD ACTING! They don't even half to snub the comic pook to get into the minds of each character.
