What about the Triple Lutz jump?
Done in competition by Canada’s Don Jackson (1962). Now it’s a required element.

Way to ignore the actual pioneer of quads - Johnny Weir was the first to LAND a quad jump in actual COMPETITION - - who wrote the narration for this waste of bandwidth, anyway? ALL of the comments here are about what you guys did WRONG in this video …… “Congrats”

Can you please do your research before posting such videos? As a long time avid fan of the sport it was almost annoying listening to you mispronounce the Salchow as well as Surya Bonaly’s name. 🤦🏼‍♀️

PLEASE get commentators who know what they are talking about!!! These are NOT ice "dancers"! Ice dancing is always done in pairs, and no jumps or throws are allowed. Figure skating focuses more on jumps, lifts, death spirals, and spins. Geesh, if you are going to make a video at least do a little research!!

Way to gloss over Surya Bonaly's achievement there - goodness, celebrate it a little before getting into the critiques.

I've looked and looked. Every time I see where beautiful steps could be fitted into routines that exactly match the mood of the music. I'm entranced but I keep going back to bolero to see. That happen though I'm sure that professionals may feel that surpassed by now I can't unlock my gaze from the spectacular timing. I'm a musician and that's disappointing. They hear the music, they execute beautiful moves but they land late or move a fraction of a second after the music. Perhaps as the judges are perhaps not musicians that would not affect them. In bolero they land as the music happens not in the air or going into a move. Just an observation.

Aren't we special? We try to push limits every now and then .... winning losing ..... Winning again ...... exploring.. endeavoring ....triumphing .... Yesterday I watched YouTube for half day... Today I will push it to full day 😁

Debbie Brill did that high jump style at school in Maple Ridge in 1966. Fosbury was not the first. But he’s American, so of course he’s “first”. 🤦🏽‍♀️

ILIA KOULIK!!! The first athlete in Olympic history to successfully, beautifully and ARTISTICALLY execute the QUAD, should not only go down in History as the to first OLYMPIC Champion Quad Pioneer but also as the most HUMBLE Olympic Champion in History.
We met and got to know and hang out with ILIA at one of the local Tennis Clubs in CT USA, and not once did ILIA brag or mention the Quad record that he holds to date. What a TRUE CHAMPION he is!! And a Fantastic Tennis athlete as well!!!!I
