About :

Sabertooth predators have inspired awe in humans since time immemorial, and are reminders that Hollywood-worthy carnivores once stalked the earth alongside our ancestors. Despite our fascination with these prehistoric icons, however, they are often misunderstood.
Popular media commonly refers to these ancient predators as “sabertooth lions” or “sabertooth tigers,” yet in reality they were never part of the lineage that led to lions and tigers.
Many were not even cats at all.
Following is the list of 7 animals that were equipped with saber teeth but they did not belong to any Cat Family.
1. Gorgonops: A Whiskered Predator (Extinct 254 Million Years Ago)
2. Machaeroides: The First Saber-Toothed Mammal (Extinct 40 Million Years Ago)
3. Uintatherium: A Bizarre Herbivore (Extinct 35 Million Years Ago)
4. Longirostromeryx: A Saber-Toothed Deer (Extinct 6 Million Years Ago)
5. Oncorhynchus rastrosus: A Salmon With A Nasty Bite (Extinct around 100 Thousand Years Ago)
6. Thylacosmilus: A Prehistoric ‘Copy Cat’ (Extinct 3 Million Years Ago)
7. Gomphotaria: A Four-Tusked Walrus (Extinct 5 Million Years Ago)

it truly is amazing the amount of animals that have come and gone to Extinction in the 100's of millions of years. We apparently will be extinct as well and other animals will eventually come and replace the current animal kingdom that we have now, including us. This is the reason religion is a farce.
